Frequently Asked Questions
- Why make a planned gift to the Barnes?
Making a planned gift is a thoughtful way to contribute to the future of the Barnes and to create a legacy that will inspire other art enthusiasts for generations to come. These gifts ensure, in perpetuity, care for our treasured collection and the engagement of new and increasingly diverse audiences through our education and our public- and community-engagement programs.
Planned gifts are a great way to offer critical support while also receiving benefits for you or your loved ones.
- Can I generate income for myself or a loved one with my gift?
Yes! The Barnes has opportunities for Gifts That Pay You Income. You can also provide income for a child, a grandchild, a parent, or a friend. That income can increase cash flow now and/or during retirement, pay for a college education, provide income for aging parents, or perhaps assist a loved one with special needs.
- If I am unable to make a current gift, how can I support the Barnes in the future?
An easy and low-cost way to make a gift to the Barnes is to include the Barnes in your will or revocable trust. Gifts by Will are a major source of support for the Barnes. Each individual legacy contributes to our financial strength and ability to offer transformative experiences to our many audiences in perpetuity. If you have not already done so, please consider putting the Barnes in your will or revocable trust. See our Bequest Language page for samples of how to do this. You can also designate the Barnes the beneficiary of Life Insurance, annuities, or Retirement-Plan Benefits.
